As for cartridges, I'll keep it to two brands, so you can research similar quality alternatives if you like. These are all mid to late 1960s kit and Garrard made dozens of models that you pick up from lots of sources. Both quite capable and not too expensive, although they are starting to get rarer. They did go to Mk IV and V but they would not be of the period. If you want to go manual then there's the SP25 range from Mk I to III. You can go from say., a 2025TC upto a SL75B. There are loads of models that all fit into the same enclosure. Then replace the missing turntable with either the identical unit, or if they will fit, a unit from the period by Garrard. Don't do anything other than give it a clean and polish.
